I had an opportunity to read an advance copy of Stolen in Death by J.D. Robb. What an honor and what a fabulous ride!
Stolen in Death may be the book fans of Roarke have always been waiting for. We adore this reformed thief with the incredibly talented fingers, Irish accent and sexy ways, so getting a peek at some of the jewels he stole once upon a time and the reactions and assumptions made by various law enforcement types about the theft was a true delight.
Perhaps the most surprising thing about Stolen in Death is that there are still things to learn about the characters and the lives they've led and that this series at book 62, still has stories to tell and mysteries to unfold in unique and varied ways. Nora Roberts, writing as J.D. Robb, is a powerhouse of stories, never seeming to lose steam, as she always finds new ways to make us fall in love with Eve Dallas, Roarke, and all the men and woman of the NYPSD all over again.
Highly recommended, and if, by chance, you've never picked up an In Death story, you can really start at any point along the way, as each book is its own stand-alone mystery. However, as a true fan, I highly recommend starting at the beginning with Naked In Death.
60+ exceptional novels later, this series is still going strong.
